Great is Thy Faithfulness...

I woke up singing this favorite hymn this morning...

"Great is Thy faithfulness," O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
  Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
    "Great is Thy faithfulness," Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

It has been a favorite truth to stand on for a long time...but I really needed the "spiritual kick in the butt" this morning.

I'm still soaking in the last verse - Pardon, peace, presence, cheer, guide, strength and HOPE.  Keywords to live by today, tomorrow, and I'm sure through the holiday season.

Peace to you as you celebrate His birth, and live in the knowledge that He loves you!!

Merry Christmas

I've been really busy, and not busy enough. My heart has been breaking in unexpected places the past few months...friends passing away unexpectedly, illnesses attacking loved ones, me missing kids and grandkids, and not wanting to feel nostalgic for all the sadness around my heart right now. I feel tender and raw...vulnerable. I cry at the drop of a hat, even over silly things, like TALKING about not watching a movie that would make me cry...not even watching that movie. Just talking about it. Oh dear! I did want to touch base though as we approach Christmas...all the sadness is making me draw even nearer to Jesus, because He is my hope (and the hope of the world). I've enjoyed my time of Advent, singing in the choir at church, baking cookies for friends and neighbors. It helps me to shift gears emotionally and mentally when I can change it up a bit and do something new. And in God's goodness, He is allowing us to do something new for Christmas! I'll share the detai

New Recipe: Beef With Broccoli

New Recipe: Beef With Broccoli MarinaBromley@Marina's Kitchen Table I love to cook, and I love finding tasty recipes for things I usually get when I eat out. With Covid still raging, we still limit ourselves to eating outdoors (not possible in this Nothern Kentucky winter!), picking something up and eating at home, or using the drive-thru. We do something once a week or so, but if I can make it at home that's all the better! Beef with Broccoli is one of the things I enjoy getting at one of our favorite drive-thu places.  I wasn't looking for a recipe for it, but when my DIL posted a pic of making it at her house it captured my attention. I know that she's a good cook, and it looked good enough to eat! Good enough to have me CRAVING it right now!! I asked her for her recipe (source unknown) and saved it to my phone to make in the future. As soon as I was talking about it with my sister and friends they wanted the recipe. Thankfully I remembered I had it saved on my phone
